  2. joely December 3, 2007 at 8:13 pm #

Thank you so much, Neana! I appreciate your kinds words!

I’m not sure what you’ve read of mine, but I have one Joely Skye book in print, Beautiful Monster, and it is at Amazon.com and other online bookstores. Marked will be released tomorrow as an ebook, but won’t got to print for 10 months.

I also write under the name Jorrie Spencer for my het romances. One book in print (again at Amazon.com and other online bookstores) is Haven, although I’ll have to more books out next year in print: The Strength of the Pack and The Strength of the Wolf.

I hope that helps! And thank you for dropping by.

I can pretty much tell whether or not I am going to enjoy a book as soon as I read the first few paragraphs. As soon as I started reading “Marked”, I felt myself smiling and I knew that I was in for a truly good read.

Some authors overdo their homoerotic scenes, but “Marked” has a perfect balance of believable characters, suspenseful plot, and tasteful sexual interludes. This is truly a “can’t put it down” ebook.

I am really looking forward to reading your other works.

  4. joely December 9, 2007 at 6:05 pm #

Hi Dalia, and thank you for letting me know! I’m so glad you enjoyed Marked. Your note made my day :)

  5. Carmen January 4, 2008 at 5:13 am #

Hi! I’ve just read “Marked” and I had to tell you how amazing story I thought it was. I love how not only the main ones, but the secondary characters are well developed, above all the kids.

The plot is also very interesting. I started reading the ebook and I couldn’t stop untill I finished!!

I can’t wait to get your other works!

A big hug from Spain, where you have a big fan (and sorry for my bad and poor english).

  6. joely January 4, 2008 at 6:01 am #

I’m so pleased by your note, Carmen, thank you! I work hard on all my characters, so I appreciate your kind words.

And I think your English is very good, certainly no need to apologize!

  7. Mike January 30, 2008 at 3:32 am #

Wow, just finished Marked, Monster, Zombie, and Minder in one sitting. I wait with bated breath for your next gay romance novel. hmm wondering if you could recomend another author while I wait :)

  8. joely January 30, 2008 at 4:41 am #

Thank you, Mike! I’m so pleased you enjoyed them. Thanks for letting me know :)

My absolutely favorite author of the moment is Josh Lanyon. He writes mystery/romance and he has some fantastic stories out at Loose Id and Aspen Mountain Press.

I’m also a fan of JL Langley (who writes werewolf romances too) and Ally Blue, and they have books at Samhain.

And I should have another gay romance out in ebook this May. Science fiction romance, this one. I keep meaning to announce it!

I just finished reading Marked in one sitting great book – you really made me feel for Alec, I cried. I would very much love to read more about this pack will you be writing more about them? This is the first book I’ve read of your but will not be the last.

Mike if you ever check back in you MUST Read TA Chase also at Samhain and Liquid Silver and K.A. Mitchell!! both as awesome as Joley

  10. joely September 7, 2008 at 5:01 pm #

Hi Theresa! So glad you enjoyed Marked. Yeah, poor Alec really went through the wringer.

I do have some recurring characters. Trey shows up in most of my books, including the ebook trilogy Monster/Zombie/Minder (which is in print as Beautiful Monster). So this is set in the same “world”.

Seth and Veronica have their own books in The Strength of the Pack and The Strength of the Pack—but these are het romances (by my other pen name, Jorrie Spencer).

    Thanks for dropping by!

I just read Marked and I loved this story from beginning till the end. It was beautiful.

  12. joely October 1, 2008 at 9:12 pm #

So very glad to hear that, Judie! Thanks for letting me know.

When I came to the end of Marked I was disappointed…
I wanted more pages to be there…
I loved the book. I wanted to know more about the characters. How do the brothers make a new family? I want to hear about the wedding! Come on- Were’s marching down the isle- who would not love to hear about that? With people running around like Chicken Little about two men saying I do, how do two different people deal with that scary word of “Mate”, “I love you”, and “I, do”? Heck, we are talking about men who barely say the “C” word, with two children in tow; two men with bad histories in relationships (at least one ex getting killed). How does the Non-Were deal with you are my “Mate”, “now brace yourself”? And boy do you smell good marked! What else is behind door number 1; that we haven’t been told about? Is Mr Non-Were going to be the pack’s stay at home mom? Or does he go back and read some more? Is somebody going to read and explain Harry? Are we going to have tears over that? Is Tray just going to go on hollow day forever? Then there’s what do you do when your real mother betrays her sons? That pain for any male never truly ever goes away, but the real question is: Why did it happen in the first place? Or is the whole family just screwy? And not in the good sense: that pack that screws together stick together. Are we all just doomed to follow fate? Maybe these Were’s can tell us, or at least give us a better understanding of what Family really is all about and how to cope. And still I am left with: how many more were’s are going to fall out of the wood work or the family tree? I get the feeling like I am at my family reunion back in the mid west with these Weres.
My real hope is: I want to hear that there will be more werewolf books from Joely Skye. My other hope when I come to the dinner table when reading this type of book is: I want to come away being well feed with lots of pages. I am not a big fan of non-werewolf books, but I might have to make an exception with this author. I am looking forward to the next were book.

  14. joely February 18, 2009 at 5:57 pm #

David–I’m so glad you loved Marked! Thanks for dropping by and letting me know. I do have another werewolf book coming out, Feral. Trey and Liam both appear in it (though it’s not a direct continuation of Liam and Alec’s story).

Feral will be out in ebook in May and ten months later in print.

  15. judie stewart March 4, 2009 at 7:03 am #

Hi Joely, I just read your excerpts for Feral and I’m hooked already! I want this book now!

  16. joely March 4, 2009 at 10:01 pm #

Thanks, Judie! May can’t come soon enough for me, and I hope you enjoy it when it’s released.

  17. judie stewart March 5, 2009 at 6:40 am #

    Joely,

What do I read while waiting? I guess I can read Marked, and the rest of your books!

  18. joely March 5, 2009 at 9:21 pm #

Well, Marked is certainly the most closely related book!

  19. Sara August 7, 2009 at 2:02 am #

    Hello there!

Simply loved marked! I do, however, wish it was longer, and I would love to read about how Alec and Liam are handling the kids, living together and being together. Alec seems so independent, I can’t really see him letting someone else support him. Also Liam seems to still have a lot of hang-ups from is early history. Nice to see Liam turn up in feral, but i miss Alec, who I think is a really interesting character.

Anyway, thanks for some really great books!

  20. joely August 7, 2009 at 3:48 am #

Sara, thanks so much for dropping by and letting me know you loved Marked, and miss Alec. Alec is one of my favorite characters, I have to admit. I’ve toyed with the idea of revisiting Liam and Alec, but I’ll need to find the right story for them before I do that.

  21. Sara August 8, 2009 at 12:37 am #

I hope you fins something! Alec is such an exciting person so I would love to see more of him. He comes across very mature and independent but very instinctive and sensitive at the same time. I love that he acts very “wolf like” and still is human. Very intriguing! The Liam/Alec interaction was very exctiting, you did a terrific job on the book. I really liked feral too!

  22. joely August 9, 2009 at 6:05 pm #

    I’m glad you liked Feral!

  23. David W August 15, 2009 at 9:51 pm #

    Joely,

    I really loved Feral.

The only complaint that got to me was there was not more. I would never thought of mixing a Cougar and a Werewolf. Great job! I could really identify with Ethan and Bram struggles of the everyday world, and the complex issues of relationships. Plus, thanks for weighing in to the marriage issue. I know you did not say much about it, but simply including that said so much. I really appreciated that you filled in more about how things turned out in the end.

Also, you don’t see a lot of writing in Were tails about people who struggle with reading, and the hardship that it creates. I wish you could have worked with this more. Thanks for being gutsy. I think you will cause people ears to perk up who have had a love one struggling with this issue, and make a warm spot for this story in their heart. Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), and Dyslexia are still miss-understood in our so called enlighten world and how it can effect a person’s out look on life. It’s one thing to be Were, it’s another having Dyslexia. Both have a way of making people hide who they really are. What a great way of educating with out telling someone they are learning something.

Once again, I see you have left a lot of background open, I just hope you will take the time to fill in the blanks next time. I hope Trey could fill in more about Doug’s death, in later tails. So he just died, come on! There had to be more then they waltz out the door, while Doug was in his death throws. OK. He was already dead, but you would think there had to be more. I would think the black ops would have had a cow over finding a dead body in their home base and the fact it just happened to be a wolf? And just because Trey got Ethan out of the dog house, how can he trust they did not put something into Bram? Oh here eat this… My red flags would have been going off like the cannons of the 1812 overture. That was a perfect Black Ops setup!!! Why didn’t Trey wave the magic wand over Bram too, to just make sure? Is Trey loosing his suspicious nature? It sound like you need an electrical technician or engineer in the pack to make sure these buggy issues are looked after. You mean you can’t have a Were as a telephone lines men or a cable guy? That would be funny seeing a Were climbing a telephone pole hanging on for dear life… If dogs were meant to climb telephone poles, God would have given them…

I hope you will comeback to Ethan and Bram, and your other characters too. I think Trey could share more of how the others are doing. Yeah, he’s in charge of a new pack. That can’t be easy. And with Doug gone, the pack has to be itching with fleas for trouble. Who’s going to be the beta’s to help keep the pack in line. If Bram was the omega, there had to be others there that were in his shoes too. And just because our boys are in Canada, who says that the big bad Black Ops can’t try to go get them? …There “good people” working there too? Hu? Who, the Tooth Fairy in Goth and Rambo Tinker Bell?

And I have to agree with Trey on Omegas for the most part. But that does not mean Omega’s can’t be feisty. Other people tail’s suggest they can be quite the cuddle toy, and a handful when provoked. One rumor has one red head Omega with an obedience problem, with the word “stay”. Then again I heard some Omega need to be claimed by their pack Alpha or the pack goes crazy, but that also does not mean the Omega has to be the Alpha’s Mate. One rumor has it that some Omega’s can be straight too, with a wife and kids. And the Wife has a little problem with her husband being “claimed” every six months…But what’s a Omega to do? Another has them being the go between for pack issues, and the social coordinator for the pack. Then again the rumors about Omegas are so wide and varied. My point is Omegas can be a lot of fun if you let them, they really do like their bellies rubbed, and they are very loyal to those they love.

I know I will come back for more, just please fill in the blanks. And PLEASE come back to the people you have introduced us too, it’s always nice to hear from old lost friends. And as always, please write more Werewolf books.

    Thanks again for Feral,
    David W

  24. joely August 17, 2009 at 11:45 am #

Hi David, thanks for letting me know you loved Feral. I know some aspects of the book didn’t work for you, but I’m glad you liked other aspects of the book!

I’m definitely going to be writing more in this world, though it’s hard for me to say right now what.

  25. David W August 19, 2009 at 2:02 am #

    Thanks Joely
Please don’t think I was upset, I just love details. And thanks for letting me know about your commitment to weres tails.

  26. Cherie Hall October 31, 2009 at 11:22 pm #

Have you written Veronica and David’s story? If so, where can I get it. Love these characters( from Feral and Marked) and hope to hear/read more about them and Trey.
    Tks, CherieNoel

  27. joely November 1, 2009 at 12:31 am #

Yes, I’ve written Veronica and David’s story. It’s titled The Strength of the Wolf and is out in ebook and print.
    http://jorriespencer.wordpress.com/books/wolf2/

For branding reasons, I write gay romance under Joely Skye and het romance under Jorrie Spencer, hence the different website.(Seth’s story is also there; and Trey appears in Puma.)

Thanks so much for your interest, Cherie!

I got a Barnes&Noble Nook for Christmas and the first thing I did was look up gay fiction EBooks. I just recently dicovered Feral and love it so far! Gay Vampire/werewolf stories are my weakness, two/three of my fav things in one! I really hope you do write more in this universe, it has a great deal of potential.

Wait! I’ve read Marked too! Loved it as well!

  29. joely January 13, 2010 at 6:10 pm #

Hi Marti! I’m glad you’re enjoying/enjoyed Feral and Marked. Thanks for letting me know. I’ll have another werewolf/cat shifter romance in April, Lynx. I hope to get more information up soon.

Very cool about getting the Nook for Christmas too!

  30. lilyanneporter January 25, 2010 at 1:27 pm #

While I loved your other stories, I adored Feral. (Though I agree with David W. that I was shouting at Bram not to eat the food too.) I’m really looking forward to Trey’s book and having a new story of yours.

    Cheers!

  31. joely January 25, 2010 at 5:10 pm #

I’m so glad you adored Feral! I’m excited to be having Lynx out fairly soon—the book just went to final line edits. And I hope you enjoy that too.

    Thanks for dropping by :)

  32. Brian October 14, 2010 at 8:55 pm #

Hi joely, ive read most if not all of the books you have out under this name. I enjoyed them all even though i thought most if not all of them could have been longer. I love detail and backstory! This is one of my favorite genres and im always on the lookout for a good gay story, which are sadly few and far between. I was wondering if you were working on an new books and when should we expect it to be released.
    Brian

  33. joely October 15, 2010 at 12:55 pm #

    Hi Brian,

I do have a followup planned for Scott and Rory, but it’s not ready yet. It also won’t be particularly long. But, I would like to write a longer work after the Wolf Town novellas.

As for when they’d be released, hopefully in 2011, but I don’t know for sure. I’ll post when I have definite news.

    Thanks so much for asking!

For some reason, I can’t find Monster in ebook on B&N. Can you tell me why? I really want to get it for my nook

    • Joely Skye June 30, 2011 at 11:59 am #

It used to be there! But now I can’t find it under Nookbooks either. I’ve asked my publisher and they’re reuploading it. I hope it will show up soon. I’m sorry it wasn’t there for you, and thanks for asking.

    • Joely Skye July 18, 2011 at 9:17 am #

Hi Nathan. Thanks for your interest. Beautiful Monster is a print anthology made up of Monster, Zombie and Minder—very closely related novellas, in digital only—and these are available on Nook and Kindle.

So Beautiful Monster is the print version and Monster/Zombie/Minder is the digital version. Same story.

I hope that’s clear, and sorry for the confusion!
