TBR

I am trying very hard to concentrate on writing. Hence, I have little reading time. Despite this there are a number of books I want to read. Soon.

Namely:

  • Untamed Hearts by Ally Blue (psst, just hit the bestseller list)
  • Paul’s Dream by Rowan McBride
  • The Hell You Say by Josh Lanyon (or do I wait and read with the next installment? decisions, decisions)
  • Like a Thief in the Night by Bettie Sharpe
  • Into the Mist by Maya Banks

I’m sure I’ll think of more :)

Coming soon: Poison

I actually sold a novel in 2007. I didn’t want to talk about it until I received my first set of edits. The book is a slight departure, in that it’s a futuristic gay romance. I’m very excited about this sale both because it’s a little different and also because I first wrote it years ago.

It needed serious work! But I just love this story, always have. It’s due out in May. Title: Poison.

Here’s an unofficial blurb:

Tobias Smator lives down his late father’s execution by avoiding the spotlight—and responsibility. He doesn’t mind what people think of him as long as they leave him alone. Still, in this unremarkable half-life he’s fashioned for himself on deceptively low-tech Rimaria, he’s not safe from political intrigue. Someone wants him dead.

Alliance operative Geln Marac’s orders for his first assignment were simple: Stay uninvolved. But with Tobias dying from poison, he doesn’t hesitate to ignore those orders to save him. His reward? Possible betrayal that lands him in the hands of police interrogators. To protect the Alliance, Geln resorts to a temporary mindwipe.

Tobias is fascinated by the amnesiac man who saved his life. But Geln has attracted the attention of the high-powered Lord Eberly, who would use him as a pawn. Rather than sacrifice Geln to the political wolves, Tobias chooses to embrace his heritage.

Geln’s memory reawakens to a precarious situation with no source of protection—except Tobias. There’s only one way forward for both of them.

Trust—or die.

Review

I had a lovely review of Marked by Howling Scribe—a 9.5 rating.

This was definitely a book that will keep you on your toes, keeping you reading until the end, especially in the second half of the book. The characters were all so interesting and meshed so well together. It was easy to see the characters in their situations. They didn’t seem forced together like some books I have read.

Thank you, Howling Scribe!
